Terms of Service

Last updated: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and BudgetNewb LLC ("BudgetNewb", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the BudgetNewb website and application (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who provides the Service

The Service is operated and provided by BudgetNewb LLC. When you subscribe, you are contracting with BudgetNewb LLC, not with our payment reseller. See Section 8 for how payments are handled.

2. What the Service does

BudgetNewb is a personal budgeting tool. It lets you organize money into buckets, set line items and savings goals, plan around your income schedules, and optionally connect bank accounts so bucket amounts can be checked against your actual balances. It is a planning and tracking tool only.

3. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a household, family, or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that party to these Terms.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Your license to use the Service

Subject to these Terms and your active subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, household budgeting purposes within the plan you selected.

Restrictions

  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law.
  • You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or offer the Service to others as a service.
  • You may not circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or technical protections of the Service.
  • You may not use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy content or data from the Service.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • engage in fraud, misrepresentation, spam, or harassment;
  • infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the Service, including uploading malware, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or overloading our systems;
  • provide false information about your income, identity, or accounts.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the information you enter into BudgetNewb — your budgets, buckets, line items, income details, spending logs, and notes ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

8. Payment, subscription, and Paddle

The Service is offered on an annual subscription basis. Your subscription renews each year until cancelled. If you cancel, your subscription — including all features — remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Payments, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refunds are handled by our payment reseller. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

For the terms that apply to payments, billing, taxes, cancellation, and refunds, please refer to Paddle's Buyer Terms, which form part of your agreement with us. Our Refund Policy also applies and is available on this site.

9. Bank connections

If you choose to connect a bank account, the connection is established through Plaid, a third-party service. When you connect an account, you authorize us and Plaid to access the information needed to display balances and support the Service. We do not have access to your online banking credentials; they go directly to Plaid. Bank balances shown in the Service are for reference and safety checks — they are not a guarantee of your actual available funds, and you remain responsible for your own banking decisions. See our Privacy Notice for how this data is handled.

10. Not financial advice

BudgetNewb provides budgeting tools and information for general, educational purposes. It does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product. Decisions you make with your money are your own responsibility.

11. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculated figures will always match your bank records. Features and functionality may change over time.

12. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and branding, is owned byBudgetNewb LLC and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license in Section 5, you receive no rights in the Service. Your Content remains yours as described in Section 7.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or be free of errors.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising from or relating to the Service. Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with notice where practicable, if: you materially breach these Terms; payment for your subscription fails or is reversed; your account or activity creates a security or fraud risk; or you repeatedly or seriously violate our policies.

If your access ends for any reason, you may request an export of Your Content for up to thirty (30) days after termination by contacting us. After that window, Your Content may be deleted as described in our Privacy Notice.

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time through Paddle or by contacting us. Cancelling does not end your current paid term early — see Section 8.

17. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. If a change is material and unfavorable to you, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or in the app). Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree with a change, you may cancel your subscription before it renews.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally. If it cannot be resolved, the dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.

19. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or reorganization.

20. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delays or failures in performance (other than payment) resulting from causes beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, labor disputes, failures of the internet or third-party services, or governmental action.
